DJM900 Nexus for turntablist?

Was just wondering how strong and hard wearing the faders are on the DJM900, especially for DJ's who scratch and beat juggle? I found the faders on the DJM-600 were not nearly as strong as a dedicated battle mixer. I really like the features on the DJM900 but it would be pointless buying one if the faders are not strong enough, any advice would be much appreciated :-)

The DJM900 fader is solid, As far as infader countour no it not meant to be a scratch mixer. Can it be used sure. The DJM900 Fader buttons use a locking method so it will stay on if your a crazy scratcher. As far as the fader molding to your fingers. Not so got it had a firm feel and straight edge feel. Being able to scratch and add mixer filter effects really adds to your scratch session.

I concur - crossfader is no innofader(not meant to be tho) but its solid and responsive and the curve is pretty good for basic turntablism. I think the fader will take a beating and last quite a while. Feels quite sturdy. The channel faders are not as loose and feel pretty strong. I dont think these are built the same as the crossfader with that contactless piece but i could be wrong.

Cool, cheers lads, yeah it was the channel faders that wore really quick on the DJM600, been thinking of getting a DJM909 that mixer looks more suited for my style of DJ'ing.

Decisions Decisions.

Best to goto the store and ask to try both :)

For the money involved i think its a wise thing to do ...

@Marko - I *think* that djm900 is the only one that lets you take advantage of pioneers "link system".  Unless djm2000 updated this somehow with firmware, it could not take advantage of the linking with the newer cdj models (cdj2k + cdj900).  I'd definitely look into this before going with the djm2000.

The djm2000 looks pretty cool and all but it comes down to whether you'd get much use out of some of the advanced effect features.  The only thing I really liked on the djm2k that djm900 doesnt have was the frequency mixing function.  I thought that was pretty neat.  But I dont think I'd use the other touchscreen things..

Thats really confused me?

the djm2000 has an inbuilt hub and was offering link before the 900 cake out?

The djm2k has many features over the 900 imo to make it the better mixer ..
