I'm not sure about a latency issue with the Mic Input. I've haven't heard of that... Are you sure you don't have the Mic input selected to a deck and possibly have an effect on it or something odd?

Have to see what Gavin or Pulse come up with on it since they have the DDJ-ERGO and can test it out.

I have tried the volume on the back but in relation to the music, if i am mixing at a low volume i can barely hear the mic (turn it up a fair bit and its fine) just doesnt seem to be prominent enough at low volume... it could possibly be due to volume combinations (high gain of track, low master volume) i'll recheck again when i can (its 7.30am lol)

Most importantly the delay/latency... I was using serato dj intro at the time and as far as im aware you cant assign effects to the mic using that (can u with any software?) it just seemed to be delayed upon playback... as i said to try and mc on beat was impossible due to this.

@Stephan > lol sounds good. Yeah give the back volume a boost and if needed increase the top level too.

Using different software could have different results unfortunately.

Yes, you can assign the "Aux" input and "Mic" input to a deck (at least in VDJ). Then you can use some of the mixer and effect functions on top of the input.

Oh nice i might have to have a play around with assigning the mic to a deck :D get some nice eq settings :D. guess ill have to get used to using the master more so than the gains... means lowering my recording levels as i usually onitor them for streaming.

Anyway heres to hoping someone can clarify about the mic latency and if its fixable.

I take it you're still having problems with it and can replicate it every time you use the mic?

@Foster > Yes this problem is replicatable every time, irrespective of laptop or desktop configuration. It makes the mic useless, to the point that i am considering returning the product now, just not sure how the shop is going to respond to this issue.

Yes my problem is with the mic delay. The Ergo is a good bit of kit but you could not gig with it if you uses the mic alot.

Im not sure how u would see it in the video. best way to describe it is you hear yourself talking from the speakers around 1/2 to 1 second after you actually talk, so if you was to say AH on beat 1 of a track it would play through the speakers on beat 2 or 3.

Hi all, I to have been having issues with mic latency. I have adjusted the asio driver parameters as suggested to no avail. As an old school DJ I like the banter over the mic but I agree it is totally useless, had I have known this before purchase I would have looked at an alternative product. there are reports on some forums that the T1 suffers from the same problem however the S1 doesn't because it has a pass thru switch so that the mic audio is routed straight through to the output bypassing the laptop hence no latency. I can't see how this problem can be reolved with a firmware fix as it appears to be a hardware issue. I hope Pioneer are monitoring these forums and can come up with a solution to date tech department state they have not had any reports of this problem however their are plenty of reports if you search on google,  the retailer wasn't helpful at all where I purchased mine and they are not prepaired to take it back for credit against another controller (s1) and for me to pay the difference. Only solution I can think of is to purchase a seperate mixer for mics or sell it on ebay!  for the record is there anyone else having the same problem with delay on mic circuit if so please add to this thread then perhaps if there are enough reports Pioneer will look into it. Not a happy chappy  :-(

Update, Today managed to spend some time on this issue and although I have a fairly high spec Toshiba laptop I thought I would give it a go on my Sony Vaio after adjusting the ASIO settings as suggested by Atomix (VDJ7) the delay noticeably improved however I noticed a tick box on the ASIO settings wthin VDJ7 under Config , sound setup , Sound Card, ASIO DRIVERS select ultra-latency setting and tick the box  PERFECT!!!!

Is this only available in VDJ7 though, and not LE which ships with the ERGO?  

Hi guys, just an update. I thought I had this mic latency nailed however when doing voice overs it is back ;-(  but I have now eliminated it completely.

Solution.  I purchased a cheap 2 channel USB powered mixer took the output of the ergo to the line input of the mixer and used the mic channel on the mixer instead of the ergo. (Output of new  2 channel mixer to powee amp. The mic channel on the mixer I purchased has it's own tone controls for the mic and the result is absolutely perfect. The best part is the mixer brand new is only £36 ! well worth the outlay. I personally don't think there will be a way to reduce mic latency to zero using your laptop because of trying to reduce buffering to zero without causing distortion however this does not deter the quality and performance of the DDJ ERGO and it's capabilities to me it was money well spent. Shame I'm an old school DJ that likes to hear his own voice over the mic but for those old school wedding DJ's that need a mic the additional mixer is a solution.

I was just as frustrated as you however my solution above works well (2 posts above yours)  NO LATENCY AT ALL  just a cheap Behringer mixer £36 insert your mic into that and it is totally isolated from Ergo no latency, sounds superb and even has its own tone controls for the mic circuit :-)
