CDJ 2000 Waveform

when i connect RB with my cdj's. the wave form comes up straight away. but, if i put my usb stick in the cdj. no waveforms appears at all. only until you press play and it forms as the song is playing. so how do i see waveforms straight away using a usb or sd card? hope this makes sense to someone and i must point out iv had the 2000's for a matter of days so only getting used to them. hope this isn't a silly question. cheers

Have you analyzed all the tracks and exported them to the USB using rekordbox?  This must be done in order to see the waveforms straight away otherwise the CDJ will have to process it, just like when inserting a CD

@David > there are no silly questions here - we want you to fully utilise the units and get your value from them. It sounds like you are not exporting the tracks to USB from Rekordbox correctly, hence why the waveforms are not displaying instantly. When the tracks are on your computer you need to select which ones you want to export to the USB stick to play on the unit.

Click on playlists on the left hand side of the screen.  Right click on a playlist that you have made and select export to.  Make sure your USB flash drive or external hard drive is connected.

@David > are you trying to play the tracks directly from Rekordbox or exporting from Rekordbox to a USB stick and playing them from that? If you are playing your tracks from USB, you need to put those tracks on Rekordbox first (that'll mean actually placing them on your computers internal drive). Then, when Rekordbox has analysed those files, you need to export them to a USB stick. If you are trying to play the tracks directly from Rekordbox (that is, via LINK) ensure all firewalls allow the Pioneer traffic as well as your antivirus.

put tracks into mixed in key

then put those tracks into record box and analyzed all tracks

then created a playlist.

then put my playlist onto my USB stick which is connected.

@David > If you go to the USB stick (Windows Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac)) do you see a Pioneer and contents folder (they may be hidden)?

Have you the USB stick formatted to FAT32?
