hiya guys,
when i make a feedback loop, the signal before i stop the cdj1000 mk3 is at normal volume level, but when i stop the cdj the volume goes quieter, by quite a noticeable amount. I have my level in and out both set at 12 o'clock on the efx unit. i just don't understand. Advice would be much appreciated. thankyou in advance |

Don't just set the in/out levels at 12 and expect they'll be okay - you need to ensure that the audio levels remain the same when the S/R is off as it is on, as well as when the effects are off as well as on.
To set it up: - Play music! - Turn on your S/R - did the level drop? Turn up the input level to match them. Toggle the S/R on/off a few times to be sure it's the same. - On the JOG side, select the WAH effect and flip the effect switch on. Did the level drop? Adjust the output level so they're matched. Toggle the effect on/off switch a few times and level it out. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Thankyou for the quick response pulse
yes the level does drop when i turn s/r on, one quick question about turning the input up, don't i want to turn my output up? also when i turn my jog effects on i cant really notice an change in the levels. do you think there is a chance i could have a faulty unit? one last question i read in another post about some people putting their return into a channel on their mixer, now i have a djm 800 so what are the advantages of that? Thankyou again for the quick response |

No, if when you turn it on the level drops, you need to adjust the INPUT level. If when you turn on your jog, your output level doesn't change, you've already go it in the right place.
Having your return loop come back into another channel allows you to EQ and "color" your effects (as well as control the levels with a channel fader) but it really is easier to have it on the S/R loop. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

ok thankyou pulse. while you are posting in here i would like to ask you another question. my djm800 seems to have a bit of a dodgey on/off button for the effects pannel. i mean the orange button at the bottom right of the mixer. when i say dodgey i mean it doesn't always turn off and on when i press it. should i be worried? is it a common thing?
advice would be much appreciated dex |

If it doesn't turn off when it should, something's not working properly and you should have it serviced.
