In James Zabiela's video 4, he demonstrates using the EFX Link on the DJM 1000 to scratch. I was wondering if this is possible with a DJM 800 which does not seem to have this EFX Link connection. I guess my question is, will this abscence of EFX Link on the DJM 800 limit me in what I can do with the EFX 1000?

Sorry, there's no EFX link on the 800 but you don't really need it to do all the tricks in the videos.

OK, so pretty mush the only thing I'd be missing out on is the crossfader control?

Well, not entirely. I haven't tried (but I should) connecting the MIDI from the 800 directly to the EFX's MIDI-in to see if the crossfader is on the same channel as any of the effects which would matter (namely the jog). If not, you could always run the MIDI into a computer and re-map it then send it back out to the EFX.
