When i flick the left beat effect switch i just get a WOOOOOSH sound ontop of rhe music............seams like a fault on the switch?

No....nothing is on.....

ive just tryed it unpluged from everything eles....and pluged my phones in......it still does it...also the 1st bar on the effect out level meter is lit... ......the sound is like a SHHHHHH

yes......its all set up properly.........I think its a fault on the beat effect switch.....as the problem only happens when the switch is engaged.....il open it up and check the contacts....before i send it for repair...

Ive opened it up and found a lot of "COFFIE" inside,its also on the back of the PCB behind the Beat effect switch.......



This is most likly causing a dirty signal....



Il clean this off tommorow and re-assemble.....

Just cleaned all the "COFFIE" of the PCB.........

The problem was...there are 2 main PCBs in the EFX 500...

1.in the top of the casing and 1 on the base......

These 2 boards are grounded by 2 copper sprung strips that touch when the case is closed up...

Its these 2 copper strips that for some reason wernt touching,which was causing the problem....

ANYWAY ..all sorted.....looks like a EFX 1000 will have to wait...

Glad to hear you got the problem solved. Did you spill stuff in your EFX? (Coffee perhaps?) Do you ever transport your EFX?

Its was deffenetly coffee in there......i seem to remember spilling a mug full a while ago when i was tired......

Still...at least it wasnt as bad as the curry incident that went all over the place once....
