Hi all,
I'm having a problem in connecting my EFX 1000 to my mixer, knowing that my mixer has the Send/Receive connectivity. I bought 4 stereo phono cables that fits in the plugs, 2 for Send and 2 for Receive. I made the connection but it didnt work. It was then i realized that the cable was a stereo and not mono. I replaced the cables and got the mono ones and did the connection but even that didnt work. Know that using RCA cable works fine, but the phono ones doesnt. I checked the manual and i noticed that it says that i need to connect L input channel only and for output both L and R channels. I even tried but still that didnt work. No signal is flowing to the mixer. HELP PLEASE. |

Apart from the mixer, could it be an issue with the phono cables?
Use only mono cables 1/4" on all In's and Out's (L/R channels). |

it doesn't matter if the cables are mono or trs (stereo)
using your 1/4" cables; the left and right SEND on your mixer go into your efx INPUT. then your efx OUTPUT goes into the corresponding RETURN on your mixer ensure your send/return function is enabled/on and max out the depth just to see whether it works? |

That's not entirely true - you want to use MONO jacks because some equipment is poorly built and may not have the connector placement in the right position; in other words, it makes contact with the ring whereas it should make contact with the sleeve. If that's the situation, the only contact could be the tip for both devices.
Always better to use mono cables for S/R. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Oh sorry guys for my late reply, after all i was the one who was having the problem.
Anyways, i solved the problem. My mixer actually had an external effect switch On/Off button. I didnt knew about that. But now things are working just fine. Thanks and sorry again. |
