When these are released in July, which retailer should get your first shipment, and what will a competitive price be for these. All internet retailers I've seen so far such as Pro Sound and Abracadabra heve the units listed only at the msrp? Will there be a price floor that they cannot go under? Thanks.

The price they can't advertise under, the MAP, is probably the only real price regulation from Pioneer. I'm not sure if that means they can sell it for less, and just can't advertise it for less...?

By law a manufacture cannot set or tell a retailer how much they can sell something for. So they can essentially sell it for less than what they bought it if they wanted. What they can't do as authorized dealers is advertise under a certain price. So many dealers will put call for price. Those that have retail prices you should definately call. Most dealers will be ordering these however I would go to a store or call and tell them you want to put a deposit if they have the best price.

Yep it's all about the MAP pricing. . . protects us as dealers and keeps the market balanced. . . . as soon as the units are available they will be shipping. . . We're currently taking pre-orders on them and we have one set up on our front counter for display purposes, as we had Lars and Pioneer Rep Dave Davis here last week showing off the unit.
