Hey All,
Just got a DVJ-X1 back from repair and need to run the upgrade disc. I lost the instructions somewhere and the old link here in the forums is broken. I know I press Tempo for 10s to get my firware rev level. But from that point, how do I run the upgrade disc? It's been a while...hehe JC Simon Ottawa, ON Canada |

Firmware update instructions:
1. Confirm that the unit power is OFF and no disc is loaded. Hold the REC MODE and RELOOP/EXIT buttons simultaneously and turn the power ON. 2. Release the buttons when the "NO DISC" message appears in the display. 3. Insert the firmware upgrade disc. 4. The display will show "DOWNLOAD-MAIN". 5. The update process takes about 3 minutes - do not turn the power off! 6. When the update is finished, the display will show "Complete" and the disc will be ejected. 7. Remove the disc and turn the power off. 8. Confirm the upgrade - turn the power on. 9. Hold the MASTER TEMPO button for 10 seconds and the firmware version is displayed. 10. Turn the power off and on again to clear the display. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Let me add one word of warning:
If this process gets stopped for any reason during this update process you will have a pretty black rock. It will have to go back to Pioneer for a fix. I always put mine on a UPS just in case during this time. |

For some reason Pioneer removed it from their websites - I've requested it be added back on. Check either Pioneer USA or Pioneer Europe within the week.

I contacted Pioneer about getting the update and got this in response:
Now that is in sirect conflict with what I have learned in doing my research. Am I crazy? And does anyone know where I can get the newest firmware upgrade ASAP? (I have v1.80) Thanks! |

Hi, I seem to be unable to update my firmware, I'm following the instructions to the tee but no joy. I insert the disc at the point that it says "no disc" as instructed. It then shortly displays track 01 and "end". Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
Much Appreciated, Phil. |
