Hi all... I just joined the community but have been using Pioneer for years. I have my introduction info posted under the Gab Bag if your interested. Anyway, my question is if it is worth buying the DVJ equipment over the CDJ equipment. I used CDJ1000s for many years to DJ and not have to decide if I buy a setup like my old one or move onto becoming a DVDJ. I am interested in doing videos and have about 1500 music videos on DVD already. I'm just wondering if you get a good return on your investment being a DVDJ. I've been out of the scene for a while and need to buy all the equipment from scratch regardless. I do however still have my speaker/amplifier setup and I own a 84" portable projection screen and small high lumens projector for my home theatre that can easily come with me to gigs. Any advise would be appreciated...

Here's my take on it. If you have CDJs and want to do video, you need to buy DVJs. If you have DVJs and want to play CDs/DVDs, no problem.

I realize there is an expense issue, but I truly see the investment paying off in the long run; video is here and the wave of the future........

ahhh hell ya! it costs some money but find a night club that is not doign so good and have the owner give u the door or even 1/2 the door. U bring your dvjs and a few projectors and or plasmas lcd. And make that money. Iam on my third club and even did the Super Bowl in AZ for $7500 with Ditty Young Joc and Cheryl Dennis - its worth the investment it puts u on a new level. And u get laid MORE!!!! check out the pictures at www.clubsac.com all video gigs or go to www.youtube.com and type 815L for the search word and watch the videos. I hope the videos and pictures kick u into gear.

Hey Guys,

Well I made up my mind and ordered 2 DVJ1000s, a DJM800 and the VSW1 from agiprodj today and the equipment will be here next week. I can't wait to get back to it....
