HELP !!! What is the best way to rip a file from a DVD. MPEG2, AVI, VOB etc... I ripped some promo only videos to make my own compilation, but compared to the originals, the videos the look a little blurry and not as sharp.

I have tried a few different methods. Will the copies ever look as good as the originals ??? or maybe even close.

I think the official word is that you can't rip PO DVD's because of copyright, although I may be wrong.

That said I'll direct you to google to do some searching there.

You can back up your PO stuff, do a search on their own forums.

Anyway G Funk you are probably recompressing the clips when you got to make your DVD. I had the same issues when I tried to weed through my discs and use Nero to compile the tracks. It always tried to recompress them with often nasty effects.

Now I just use DVDDecrypter to yank the single video off the DVD and Tsunami's DVD Author program. I just load each vob in, set up a menu structure (though I don't use it), have it autoload the first track (so you don't even see the menu template you might have picked), and the use the cue controls to move between each track.

Thanks, I will give it a try. You said, save the file as a VOB right. I will get the DVDDecrypter and give it a try, thanks.
