Yes it can be rack mounted. The edge of the mixer unscrews and makes room for ears "Karaoke Karl" Detken Director of Product Planning & Artist Relations - North America PIONEER Electronics (USA), Inc. - Pro Audio Group http://www.PioneerProDj.com |

You're right...the 800 isn't much wider than my 909, I should've double-checked the specs.

Yo Gene! The 800 is only about 1.5 inches wider that the DJM 909. You coing to come out to AZ?
Also someone asked about inputs the mixes many audio and video inputs that can be set indepenatly of each other, more than enough. Take a close look at the mixer, you can set dif. audio and video for each channel. I'm in China doing a show, try to hook up with Ivan (DJ I-Tek)while I'm out here. DJ Kris P. |

Do you mean you can expose already present rack ears by removing the edge covers or do you mean you can attach separately available rack ears after removing the edge covers? Either way, this is great! I can finally set up a clean DVJ coffin complete with 2 DVJs and an A/V mixer without having to worry about separate switchers and/or monitors! Will the SVM-2000 have a projector lens shooting out the back? Hehehehehe!!! This message has been edited. Last edited by: EricVISA, |

No, you just have to buy products which are eligible for the super rebate (see PioneerDJ homepage) ... and you get a projector!

I had fun with it last night @ a packed to th brim Sander Kleinenberg show here in Seattle.
Oh and for those wondering, this mixer IS the real deal! Unfreakinbelievable!!! This is the other resident DJ that plays with me at the club, I told him I wanted a silly pick of him using it. We were hangin with Eddie Halliwell and he was blown away at how good it looks in the dark! A pic with Simon Halliwell (Eddie's Manager), Eddie, and myself This message has been edited. Here's something I'm asking, not because I don't know the answer but I want an honest opinion from you for others to see...
Did you have to read the manual before using it? Obviously you won't know how to use every feature before spending a lot of time with it, but what I'm asking is more along the lines of "Was it intimidating or were you able to figure it out and start having fun mixing on it right away?" I thought it was a breeze *Shrugs*. Granted I'm familiar with the pioneer products (own an 800 and have used most of their mixers at my shows) but I was able to do anything I wanted with it after glancing at it (the mixer) for about 20 seconds, just to make sure I knew where the key pieces were. I have no clue what the manual looks like and for a DJ, I truly don't think you'd even have to look at it to understand this mixer. The touchscreen is extremely simplified and believe it or not, I like how you select the effects and the effect time/parameter better than how you do it on the DJM800 for some reason. The best thing that I kept in my head was "do not touch the buttons on the left side of the touchscreen" Now, if you were to see it for the first time in a club, and hadn't ever used Pioneer gear in the past, I could see someone freaking out a tad. Granted that would mean they would probably not use the effects so it'd be very easy to show them how to mix on this thing in less than 30 seconds. Hats off to the whole Pioneer gang, this mixer operates as good as it looks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: JohnnyMonsoon, |

Impressive hardware I must say. However, I'm curious to know if the developers thought about implementing a VGA connection, considering the massive amount of computer/software-based video performance utilities available.
As offered, the SVM-1000 allows me to discard everything except my scan converter. As many functions as were packed into this all-in-one package, why not cover that base also? |

I was using a borrowed SVM-1000 for a couple of days. This is an excellent device for VJ. I think highly of a style, a well – arranged design, a touch screen, the possibility of sound and video parting and a number of impressive video affects.
On the other side I am sorry to say I was surprised that this quite expensive device has only six basic VIDEO MIX EFFECTS usable for CROSS FADER LEVEL (A/B)! Video shifting could be done and combined with VIDEO EFFECT FUNCTION, e.g. Touch Effects - Twist, but this is not perfect. I work with Videonics MX-4 which has more than 700 digital trick transmissions with the possibility of setting and autostart. I use a videomix only for video but for audio I have a separate audio mix and therefore I supposed it could be possible to use only one apparatus with both functions. During the use of CHANNEL FADER LEVER for both audio and video you can use only Fade for video shifting (no other ways are available) and a fader must be pulled up at the maximum level to have the picture of 100% quality. For that reason you have to trim the proper level of sound with the button AUDIO TRIM because DVDs are not recorded at the same level! Although I have ordered SVM-1000, I mind that this apparatus has only few VIDEO MIX EFFECTS which I use the most, the other differences I will get used to. According to above mentioned details I have a principal question: is there a possibility to make transmissions (shifting) by another way or software upgrading? Thank you in advance for your help and understanding. Best wishes Mirek |
