i just need some quick advice when it comes to long term pioneer maint. i've had my decks since 2005 and they have served well, they are both out of warranty at this time and just like any other high end item they have a few quirks. one likes to randomly loop on me at times (all of a sudden the LOOP IN button will start blinking and do some random 10-15 loop that even the EXIT button won't break me out of!) and the other just has a cue button that has been well worn and unless you hit it in the sweet spot it sometimes resets even if you are still holding it down.
question is: is stuff like this worth/or even able to be fixed by having pioneer service them and pay for the labor/part out of warranty. or should i just plunk down for a new set of 1000s (don't need to buy X1s this time around) and keep going? THANKS! |

That's bizarre - I don't think I've ever heard of (or recall) that looping thing. I'd call technical support and find out about having those microboards or switches replaced.

Yeah it's really caught me off guard. I think it only does the loop craziness on burned discs (so far).. did it on diff brands of media (Verbatim and Sony) and on diff mastering software. The last time times it did it I almost crapped my self because it was on 2 completely different Bloc Party songs on Promo Only modern rock dvds!!
I'll call tech support today to see what they think, I figure it's time for some TLC in the shop just for upkeep. |

on another note, have you guys just used to local authorized repair centers for your work or did you mail them in?
the sticky CUE button is purely mechanical so that i'm not worried about, but the freaky looping issue is otherwise. i almost want to make note of a disc that does it and send that copy for them to play with. |
