I just started DJing with DVJ last month. I have a VSW-1 Switch. And have done 1 video gig so far with my DVJ setup and loved it. The problem was at the event every so often I would switch sources with the VSW-1 switch and my projector would bring up the view sonic logo and say searching for source even though it had a source. Switching back quickly solved this but it was embarrassing to have this displayed on my screens in front of a packed dance floor. I have tried searching all over for a solution but I'm stuck I wold like to resolve this before my next video gig on Thursday. I'd apreciate any help. Thanks.

Not sure if I can help you or not. It sounds like a video sync issue. I do not have the VSW-1 so that's why I am not sure about help.

what players do you have?
are they both the same?
What mixer are you using? (DJM-800?)

have you searched the forums for any VSW issues that have come up before?

I was talking with Kris P for the SVM launch party and he mentioned that he had a similar problem once before. I don't think it's a sync issue but rather the fact that there may be a momentary (however brief) disconnect in the video during a switching action. The projector then thinks that the source has been disconnected and searches for alternate inputs.

You might be able to disable the "auto source search" somehow, if it's not in the manual, maybe give the manufacturer a call / email.

I agree, it's a crappy thing to have happen but I don't know what else to suggest.

Some projectors are more sensitive to this than others.
If you can turn the auto switch off may help.
Also are you using a DA or signal amplifier box? as that may increase the strength of the signal, which may help.

If it's a super high end projector it may even have a sync in itself.

Thanks for the replies guys. I added a signal amp and it seemed to help a little its happening a lot less often. Auto source select has been off on my projector the whole time. I'm wondering if a V4 would help at all? I'm getting this a lot less often but still every once in a while so I'd like to find the end-all solution.

V4 won't really help.
It's a nice unit, but if your looking for it to solve your problem.
It won't be it.

Oh yeah, check what your video projector SYNC SOURCE is....

If it is an option or not.
It is probably set to the video input signal.
If it does have an external sync input then you may want to feed it a external video sync signal.

The projector will drop out when it can see the sync signal.

Just thought I'd let you guys know how I resolved this issue. I got hired to do live video for a dance show. We had 3 screens projecting behind the dancers and 2 live cameras. In addition I was mixing in music videos and some other visuals on the DVJs. I picked up a V-4 to do the show, and it completely eliminated my problems with the projector. The V-4 is a great addition to my setup. the only problem is now I need to find a way to case it with the rest of my setup.
