Hey, I got a Sennheiser HD205, I usually mix 4/4 music like Happyhardcore, hard-trance etc...
- When mixing a intro that has kicks it is fairly easy to hear/beatmatch with one ear cup method or both. But when a song has no kick intro. Has like a soft percussion or somesort how come it is hard to beatmatch and very hard to hear through the phones? Is it because of my headphones? - Now a question about 'quick mixing', usually I have 32 bars or more to get stuff beatmatched then I bring the song in. How can I make my beatmatching more accurate in such less time? Like I can get it fairly matched. But it's really hard messing with EQ + pitchbending at the same time, do you guys know any techniques or something? Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bon, |

In answer to your first question; Learn to listen. I know that sounds patronising but it's the only only advice that can be given. You have to a) teach youself what to listen out for, and, b) learn your tunes.
In answer to your second question; Practise. Again, I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm taking the piss, but nothing beats practise. Don't beat yourself up over not being able to do everything you want to do, immediately you want to do it. DJ'ing is both a skill and an art, not a spell to be cast. Keep on keepin' on! |

Yeh thanks,
It's not all percussions I can't match it just those really quiet ones and hard to tell and hard to beatmatch ususally I just skip it to the part where it has kicks but yeh... guess I should practice. Thought it was my headphones or something. :S |
