Hey, as you can see I am pretty new here :S. I've read a bunch of post and see a lot of you know your stuff and probably more then me. I would like to ask for some advice on what gear would suit me well. I have a small apartment where I can setup I suppose and have been thinking about doing this for a while. Now I know I'm new at this but I have worked very hard for my money and I would to buy some gear that might be a little to much for me as in experience wise so I don't grow out of it to fast. I don't want to seem like some kid just trying to do this to do it. I want to learn and put time into this and I hope one or a few of you will take your time to show me the ropes in what to get to start djing. Also I would like to know the benefits of having a laptop at your disposal. Kinda wrote an essay here but I appreciate anyones help. Thanks Ben

My advice:
Buy Pioneer gear and try to get the best units since the beginning if you can afford it. I started with CDJ-200, the upgraded them to CDJ-800 and now I have CDJ-1000s The same happened with the mixer, I started with Numark to Denon and now DJM 800. And the same happened with the other gear, I started with some equipment and I have been upgraded them. |

i really hope somebody can help me. i am getting very frustrated. i just bought ableton 6, and everytime i open it and try to play audio, it is chopping up the songs.tech support told me it was b/c warp was on, but it's not. its not changing the beat of the songs, it's just cutting them out every half second or so. this doesn't happen to other users of my computer when they are on their side of the computer- can anyone help me with this??
it has to be something so simple!!!!! |
