This is just some tricks I have learned over the years.

Put them back in the sleeves right after playing them. Keep them upright or stored flat they will be less likely to warp. Keep them out of the sun. Wipe off any dust before you play them. Use slipmats.

Cleaning products: Dont wast your money on fancy liquid record cleaners, use lighter fluid it does a better job and it is a great anti-static. Use a compressed air duster to remove dust and a 4" polyester paintbrush to wipe off your records.

Record your recoreds to a CD or a computer as soon as you get them.

Please add to this if you know of a tip or trick, this is what has worked for me what works for you.

I would certainly not store them flat, stacked on one another. They are more likely to warp this way. All of the analogue buffs recommend that they are stacked upright, with no more that 100 or so before some kind of support (vertical wooden support in a bookshelf, for example).

As for cleaning, I found a recipe on a vinyl site a dew years ago, which consisted of 1 part meyths to 1 part distilled water. This seemed to work well for me.

I have had very good results using the orbitrac (sp) cleaning system and can highly recommend it as an alternative to the expensive automatic cleaning machines.

Lastly, if you don't have covers over your 1200s when you're not using them, flip your slipmats over so that the dust collects on the 'non-business' side of things.

Records are the things you hang from your rear view mirror. Eeker

Most of mine are stored upright I do have some that are stored flat I have not had an issus with them but I here it both ways. I have about 1200 to 1500 LPs.

That orbitrac thing is that like the Kabausa?
