I'm just getting introduced to the community and have a few g's to drop so I want top of the line stuff. First I want to produce and create my own house mp3 stuff on my own computer so I need software and whatever else that entails and then later I want to get a table and mixer and whatever else is required so get at me with your ideas.

My idea is that you should learn a little bit about music and how its produced before you drop a few "g's" on software/hardware.

Hello noobie. Smiler
Lesson #1
Get your ego down
Lesson #2
There is 2 sides to this story
a) production
b) djing

Lesson #3
if you want top of the line stuff you can drop your "g's" on it's gonna cost you a lot more than "few g's"
Lesson #4
I would suggest learning before you start spending as hardy already said.

Now if you understand lesson number 2 go out and research each topic. Recommended softwares? - Reason 3.0 in my opinion, Hardwares? M-Audio Midi's, as far as djing equipment goes you're in the right place as I'm a pioneer w h o r e and all my money was well spend on my pio equipment Smiler

get ready that if you want to get somewhere with this it's gonna take a lot of learning, practice, dedication and pure heart and love for music, if you get confused about what I just said refer to lesson #1

Now I will recommend a word that I'll help you out with a few hints here:
Hints - google, read, learn, read, practice, learn, patience, and the word you've been waiting -

RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'cause nobody's gonna do it for 'cause we're all too busy and if you get stuck on something you CAN'T FIND an answer to THEN we're here to help.

o:-)

The sequencer on Reason always used to be shockingly bad{*}. I dunno if this has improved with Reason 3.0, but most pros would recommend you get a proper sequencer, namely Logic on the Mac or Cubase on the PC. Most people rate Macs more highly for pro music use.

{*} I should perhaps point out that I still use Notator on an Atari 1040ST... Smiler

I have a t-shirt from Brown Universtity. It's brown and it has 'BROWN' written on the front.

I like that shirt.

I had a t-shirt for DJ'ing in that I wore until it fell to pieces. It read:

I AM NOT A
JUKEBOX

I've got to get another one of those printed up...
