Hi guys,
I have a lot of music on my externals and I do not use computers to dj. (i.e. no traktor or serato...)

I've been getting really frustrated with labeling my cds and now I'm looking for your suggestions.
What I have been doing is typing out track names, artists & BPM in excel and resizing so it fits in my cd book. IT TAKE TOOO LONG TO DO!

thanks
Sh

If you search around here there are a few posts on this and I think a link to sw that helps keep it all organized. The excel option seems to be the one we all go to or have gone to, but there are better ways out there.

Also try a goole on it, I know I have had free sw that organized my tracks into folders and then let me burn those down with insert lists that I could print and put in a book. I like 2 CDs in a see thru view pack with a label on the outside and a sharpie description and number on the disc....

I spent WAY too many hours (thousands, I'm sure) manually entering my CDs into a database program specifically designed for DJs, only to be here years later not using it at all because the designers simply abandoned the project.

I still use CDs but because I rip everything to the computer I have a database of all of my music in programs such as iTunes, so really, it doesn't matter how I have my CDs labelled, all of the info is still in my computer.

There is no easy and pretty way to dump all the data you want to a nice label but I'm sure someone could figure something out. Some people have suggested Adobe InDesign but I found it awkward to use when importing data (obviously I didn't spend enough time learning how to import data).

If you use itunes then create playlist for all your cd's.. The new version of itunes give you a print cd case or label option when you go to print the playlist it also give all the bpm and artist information
