hello,i am new to this forum,i have some questions for the px unit,i want to buy it but i have 8 passive speakers connected to 2 power amplifiers , with a mixer unit.no sub speakers...
first can i use the subwoofer output to drive a power amplifier which drives 4 full-range passive speakers,if equalise the high pass filter( the manual writes Adjusts the frequency of the High Pass filter from OUT (below 20Hz) to 20KHz),in other words make the sub output a normal output, covers all the bandwith range for full-range use, second one person which know these dbx px units tell that if i connect the px to 2 stereo power amplifiers, and make the sub out for full-range use(how i do this?) then the unit is available to drive two power amplifiers for full-range use with passive speakers |

If I understand your post correctly you want to use the outputs of the LOW and HIGH on the DBX to power 2 separate amplifiers in FULLRANGE mode?
Simple answer to your question is no for the PX,,,,yes for the PA Why you want to go this route is unknown as it defeats the purpose and the PX is not designed for this particular application. If it is a better sound that you are seeking with the ability to drive all of your speakers I suggest the following: Buy an EQ, daisy chain the outputs of your amps, and split the speakers so that each amp channel drives 4ohms. |
