Your best bet is to go in and listen to the various speakers available on an side by side bases.
After listening to the Yamaha's as well as the generation 1 and generation 2 KRK VXT speakers I ended up settling on Event ASP8's. Also, in the world of reference speakers, you should consider what kind of speaker you need. I.E. near field, mid field, or PA. The big differences being near field speakers are designed for listening at 3 to 5 feet away, the others are designed for more distance. Right now my ASP8's are near field speakers and are used exclusively on my DAW system. Where as I have a pair of Infinity RS4b's which I use as mid-field speakers on my mixing console. |

Oh Yeah,
One last thing.. In the world of reference monitors and in fact, any high end studio gear. You really get what you pay for. You should probably expect to spend no less than $300 for each speaker if you desire to audio clarity and accurate sound reproduction. |
