Well, something happened to me yesterday that I just had to share, and see if someone can top it.

I ran into my storage center yesterday on the way to a community picnic gig, the gate was open as it has been for the last 8 years. yes 8 years, and the gate has never been shut before. 6-7 minutes later I have my cabs n such in the truck, and I come around the corner towards the gate to leave, and the gate is locked shut. One of those auto jobs with keypads on each side. And I have no code to get out, never got a notice that they were going to be doing this. Apparently someone had opened the gate just as I was coming in, and they left, and here I am thumb in ....etc.

Had to call 911,(cameras everywhere, and the owner of the storage units is not the owner of the gate, there is a large metal fabrication shop that actually owns the gate and most of the property). So I waited 30 minutes for the police to show. 15 minutes to convince him it was ok to manually crank the door open, he has to check me all out to be sure hes not helping me steal, etc. All in all, over 45 minutes lost from my little fiasco, and the picnic was only 10 minutes away and a 5 year repeat customer, so I hadn't built in alot of extra fudge time to play with.

Now someone hear has got to have a better / worse story.

I've got a couple from my previous life...

One gig, a Christmas party, I substituted a ton of those little polystyrene balls for confetti in the confetti cannon. The idea being that I'd shower everyone in 'snow'. Great idea! WRONG. What happened was; the explosive charge in the bottom of the cannon electrostatically charged all the polystyrene balls and, when it went off, they all flew out and immediately stuck (like glue!) to the guests clothes, instantly turning all of them into snowmen! The venue's velour curtains took some cleaning too, I can tell you...

Worse than that though, was when I experimented with some Ribena in the dry ice machine. Purple fog; GREAT! The bottom third of the bride's wedding dress dyed permenetly purple; Very, VERY bad...
