Hello,

I am currently mixing with a DJM 800 and two CDJ-1000mk3 with CDs. I am wondering if working with DJ software could reduce the burning CD and maintaining the CD pad overhead.

I know Traktor, Ableton Live and Torq.

What are your experiences with those? Do you think I the CD maintenance overhead is worth it?

Thanks!

Any software will cut down the "burn" requirement as you can play directly from the harddrive via the software. You'd need to use control CDs (Traktor / Torq / Serato) in order to use the main features of the CDJ1000. Ableton doesn't have the same DJing function as the others and you're better off adding a MIDI controller to the rig to facilitate it if you go that route.
