Sounds like your platter switch is broken. When you switch to vinyl mode, does the little light ring inside the jog dial turn on? That ring is only supposed to light up when you have your hand on the jog dial and are scratching.

This can be caused by placing excessive force on top of the jog dial, either gradually (such as sandwiching it in a case that wasn't designed properly) or suddenly (such as dropping something heavy on it).

It can also just wear out over time. Either way, get it in to an authorized service center to get it fixed.

Yeah thanks for getting back to me!

I’m not sure what has caused the problem!?

I bought it second hand so it came with this problem! Which is great!

Yeah as you said in your reply, the light does come on and stay on so it’s got to be the pressure switch or whatever it’s called!

I have spoken to a authorised pioneer dealer who informed me as to what need to be done! Firmware update etc so thank for your help!!!!!!!

Firmware update won't help, the platter switch is what needs fixing.

It'll probably be different, since location and model is different, but just as an example...my CDJ1K cost about 300 to have the platter switch replaced.
