Hi Forum,

I've just purchased two new CDJ1000MK3's. I may be being picky but one of them the laser sounds louder than the other one when reading the same CD's

Does this suggest a problem or do they not all sound the same?

Regards

Lasers don't make noise. Can you be more descriptive as to what's making the sound you hear?

Its the noise the unit makes when it is spinning or seeking/reading a CD. One of them sounds louder than the other one using the same media and disc.

Swapping the cable over wouldnt make any difference because the sound output is fine. There are no faults using vinyl mode, looping etc. Just one of my units spinning/seeking nosie is louder than the other one.

So it's the motor. New = brand new? If so, then you should still have the warranty, yes?

Does it do that with all CDs or just some?

I know some drive motors / spindles can be loud but the playback is just fine.

Hi

Same noise no matter what CD I use in the drive. Its just noticeably louder than the other one. It does not have any problems reading discs or using vinyl mode. Do you think I should be concerned about it or just leave it as is?

I'd leave it until it catches on fire. Then you have problems. Wink

HI...

I catch this post late so I hope you can read it. I have the same curiosity with my cdjs-800mk2. They both have this peculiar sound when drive motor spindles (its working... jaja), but of them sounds a little bit more noticeable than the other one.

They both work equally fine but, as I say, one of them makes more sound when working than the other. I think (hope) this is normal, since its almost impossible two different machines make exactly the same noise... I think.

What do you think?

I have the same sound. I´ve talked to Pioneer Norway, and they explained to me thats normal cause of the high speed the cd has when its loaded.

Turn up the volume on the mixer and amps and it will go away... Cool
