I have 2 CDJ 200s which I have had for about 3 years and love them - recommend them to anyone looking for the best DJ Cd Player under $500.00. I used them at a bar I DJed at and now the club I DJ at has 2 CDJ 800s which I use. I have a question regarding the sound quality -> is there any difference in the sound quality of the 200 compared to the 800..??
I looked at the sound specs and they looked pretty much the same.

Overall sound quality should be minimal by specs, the 200s are awesome players and if you don't scratch then they will hold their own to the 800s....

ok. thanks. I am getting the 800s soon...1 at a time [cuz I do scratch]. Def keeping my 200s cuz they be fire yo...fell in love with the 800s after using them at the club. The owner also got a new DJM 600 at his other club. Pioneer rockz!

1 other thang -> do you recommend taking CDJs out of cases to play for air flow or is it ok to keep them in Road Ready cases when playing for 4+ hours....???

I have a 6 year old CDJ-1000 that plays for about 6-20 hours a week and stays in a case with no issues or problems.

I equate DJ to my old VW GTI. I bought my GTI brand new with 10 miles on it and proceeded to drive it hard for 98,000 miles till it was hit by a drunk driver while parked and totalled. The car never gave me a problem, and I always thought it was because I treated it the way it was made and drove it hard. Gear is the same way, buy it new and use it for the job it was intended for and you'llbe fine.

Yes they get hot, but no issues that I know of and NONE that I have experienced- EVER....
