Fishermans Blues by The waterboys is a must. For dancing ( housey style ) get the Oakenfold remixes of U2's new years day and Beautiful Day. On the lighter side Any chieftains "drinking" song will do.

I also forgot to mention-
Flogging Molly
Dropkick Murphys
Sinead O'Connor
Hothouse Flowers
The cranberries
Rory Gallagher
The Boomtown Rats
The Clancy Brothers
The Cranberries

You don't want to overdose, but some fun Pub and Jig tracks will make the day.........

Ya I dont want to 'OD' on it either, but they have me starting 2 hrs earlier for the happy hour crowd, and its the only time of year we do the Irish thing, so im not too familiar with it.
Thanks for the suggestions, Ill d'l a few of those albums tonight and grab a 6 pack of guinness and sit back and listen for a while

...no honey this is work .. its called research and development

I saw on iTunes that they have a bunch of drinking songs grouped together for the holiday. You might check those out as there was definatly some good tracks that people could sing and drink a long with.

They're not bagpipes, they're uileann pipes! Big difference Razzer
Anyway, I know this is either very late or really early but get some Saw Doctors and a bit of Aslan into your set too. And why not a bit of Planxty too. All DJ Jays suggestions are spot on. He isn't a "Pioneer National Trainer & Product Specialist" for no reason! Good work Jay Wink! As regards a mix tape, leave it with me and I'll see what I can come up with.

I also forgot to mention... get your hands on some Bagatelle... Not the classical musician before you ask!

The uilleann pipes air bag is filled by a mechanism underneath the arm. The bagpipes are filled by blowing into them....And now you know!

Do you do any particular clubs in Cork?

I was asking because I'm in college in Cork so was just wondering if you were working at any of my regulars. Usually hit the Brog, the Classic and Havana's. If you get any residency let me know, gmcm87@hotmail.com
