I am thinking about adding an external effector to my setup. I am upgrading my mixer to a DJM800 (I know - but I still want MORE FX!!!). I am considering a Korg KP3 Kaoss pad. The thing that concerns me is that it samples in 16 bit which is lower than the DJM800s 24bit. Is this a bad idea??? Is there maybe something else I should look at if I want crazy effects capability but a better bit rate (maybe something Pioneer makes)? I know about the EFX1000 and it is great (props to Pioneer). But, I liked the touch screen capability on the Kaoss pad. I have seen video of bigtime DJs using a touch sensitive pad too. Is that what they are using or is it something different? I own a Korg KP3, I really like it, I use it with my DJM-400, It works great, I think the sound quality is great too. Its got tons of great effects. Its a great add-on if you want more effects. It also samples too.

DJM 909 mixer has a touch screen.

If you tried the EFX1000 you wouldn't be disappointed at its lack of touch-screen as the unit has great interfacing for both the beat and jog sides.

Hi,i own a DJM400 and i just bought a Kaoss Pad3. How did you connected it to your system without send and return jack?

Either between a CDJ and your mixer (which allows you to effect only that one device) or between the master and ... your computer or your amplifier ... or or or ... this will allow you to effect the master audio.

does it works also without the send/return plug or some feature will not be available?

The advantage of a S/R is that you have the ability to select which channel you are effecting (plus the master). Nothing else is lost feature-wise.

yes but they are different thinghs..

in a djm 909 you use the touch pad to select the effects and change some parameters

in a kaoss pad you use the touch pad to CONTROL totally the effect!

I've a djm 909 and I'm intrested to buy a kp3.. to have mooore effects and a big sampler..
