You're asking for two different things...
1) audio level normalization 2) tempo correction No application can do both of these, and I can't think of any that will do #2 automatically (Ableton Live has the ability to start the process for you but it's not perfect and needs some manual tweaking). Do a bit of searching and you'll find some apps, but personally, I'd say don't worry about it and adjust the individual song levels yourself. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Well pulse, he may be right in theory thinking of one thing. Ask the 10 music lovers with some basic technical knowledge what a compressor is and at least a few will say it's something that shortens or lengthens the length of the song. (I've met at least a dozen who thought this)
So JP, was your question having anything to do with volume level, or were you talking primarily about bpm. If it is volume level, I ABSOLUTELY THINK EVERY MEMBER OF THIS FORUM SHOULD HAVE A COPY OF MP3GAIN! If it is dodgy bpm (you mean varying bpm, no?) Well I agree with pulse. I haven't seen something that would easily fix that. That would be pretty labor intensive, as you or the software have to divide the file into separate segments and then adjust as needed. But I'm sure some programmer will figure that one out soon enough. |

I believe Audacity will level volume. It's a free download editing program. I find it works well and is loosely based on Sound forge so not hard to use.
try download.com for it or just google. Pioneer National Trainer & Product Specialist |
