Hello,
Looking at connecting my DJM 800 mixer with 2 CDJ 1000 MK3 and EFX 1000 effector to I-MAC using Logic Studio. What is your recommendation on audio interface? Would prefer firewire. Need your suggestions..... |

What do you intend to do with it all once it's connected? Do you simply want to record your mixes, or do you want to use your djm800's midi features to control parts of Logic? More details please.
Any particular reason why you'd prefer FireWire? I've been using M-Audio USB interfaces for years (also used the FireWire ones) and have never had a problem with them because they were USB. Stu |

depending on how many inputs/outputs you need look into the Apogee Duet the preamps in it are some of the best in the business, it's by far my favorite interface right now. The Presonus Firebox is also a really nice box, good pre's good feature set. MOTU just updated the Ultralite I've yet to give it a real workout, but it looks promising, plus it can be used as a standalone mixer and effects processor.
Last the Firewire 410, it's getting up there in age, but still is a great box. Goodluck |

Looking at spending up to $400 and using it for recording my DJ set then further tuning with logic. Thought firewire would be better then USB? Have looked at Apogee duet, seems nice and compact. also Motu Ultrlite seems to do the job. Firewire 410 read some comments that it is not working properly with Mac and logic. Any more suggestions, what would be the best investment? |

I have the 410 and use it with my Macbook Pro, but not Logic.

the 410 isn't bad, but it doesn't touch the MOTU Ultralite. And with all the driver BS I have put up with M-Audio, I don't think I'll be buying their products anymore if I can help it.

I had an Edirol UA-5 but I really like my 410 a lot better.

Jay - I have an Edirol UA-25. Solid card, but mine sometimes emits a high-pitched squeal that's occasionally audible through the speakers. Never on the recording input though.

Cool, I saw it and the reviews were decent. I want to stay under the $275.00 mark if possible. If not then I'd get the ultrlite!!!
