(same as subject heading) or am i going to be cought limiting my self by buying one.
i have a few questions to ask.

#1 can the sampler be used with effex?( like lift a vocal from a track and use it in conjunction with the pitch shift effect to change the notes of the vocal from a lower pitch to a higher pitch)

#2 is there an option to pan the ballance of each channel indenpendantly? ( i like to have a 2 record mix going while i will pan one record to the left wall of sound and the other record to the right and then bring them back in together)

#3 i know there is no kill switches or isolators, but the dbs levels go really low on the 3 band eq's. if i was to rotate an eq ( say the low band eq) all the way to the left would i still hear a "pop" from the bass? or would it pretty much be eliminated to the point where you wouldn't hear it?

#4 if the volume faders start to wear out, would they be replacable?

#5 i also noticed a channel toggle for the cross fader, with it could i cross the channels to make it act much like a "hamster" toggle is used?

thank you for your support i hope to hear back from you soon.
im sorry for any inconvenience this might be to you but im looking to buy some new equipment to replace what was stolen in la and i want to start off fresh with a good mixer and i hope this one is it. ( the djm-600)
thanx for your time

If you're going to be doing recording you need a board that's designed for recording like a mackie www.mackie.com

The DJM isn't really designed for that. You need a board with more balanced XLR inputs than the DJM has to offer.

For less than what you'd pay for a DJM you can get a really nice 16 channel 4 bus stereo mackie. Much better suited for recording. (unless you're talking about recording DJ mixes. I'm talking about live recording)

lolz, yea i looked at the mackie, i think maybe in about 10 years? i MIGHT get one, that is way over my head that mixer has EVERYTHING to it.
i just need something that has alot of options and doesn't compromise too much on sound, so far the pioneer djm-600 looks good for me and for what i want to do right now.
thank you for your time.

Well a studio user can differ you could go for a M*ck^e or one of those B$rin&er Eur*desks. Wich is o.k. for a home studio or a live event. If you wish to use a mixer for editing / voice over rooms / broadcasting. then you'll probally need a bigger console with VCA faders, triple buss (or more) 3 way eqauliser and phantom powersuply wich cost more then 3500,- U$. I have a mixer wich costs around $1250
Sanity cleansed daily.

I invested in a used Mackie 24-4 today! Sweet for the price of $800 CAD and in 100% working order, complete with case!

I can't wait to pick it up... mmmmm... 24 channels of inputability. I'll be like a kid in some kind of store!

I guess it all comes down to being comfortable while working. Plus it depends on what you plan on doing with the mixer. I use an mtx X3 here, so i can do live mixes, and still do some basic studio work at the same time...... But if you're doing big time work, a little mackie mixer is the way to go.
