i have a djm 400 i need to connect it on my laptop to play music through virtual dj. It only plays music on one channel, do i need to get an external soundcard. And how can i record my mixes on my computer.

In order to play via the software, you'll need a soundcard with at least 2 stereo ouputs (4 mono). There are tons and it's been discussed a few times before, please search.
In order to record, you'll also need a stereo input (from the mixer into the computer). I'm not sure if VDJ has a recording feature, if not, you can use any software to record (eg. Audacity). Please post in the correct forum next time. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

ok, i got all of this to work.thanks!! but the cross fader doesn't move with the program.why? the plays on the my laptops sounds card, and a another external.

The crossfader won't move the crossfader in the software because there is no data connection for it to tell it to do so.
