Don't asume cos they are the most expensive they are any good, Ortofon suck unless you like getting ripped off/play trance/like high end distortion.
First up what turntable do you use? What music do you play? What mixer do you have? How clean do you keep your records?
Ok the Shure is actually a M-35X stylus in a M97xE cart that is designed to be an all in one concorde design, the M-35X is basicaly the same needle in a less expensive cart but sonicaly almost the same.
Check out what I did here and listen to what you like:

The 3 carts are: Shure M-35X, Ortofon 2M Blue and a Stanton 680EL

Now the 2M Blue is miles smoother than a Night Club and it's still a **** needle for dance music, screw orto f*ck
I would considder, Shure M-35X, White Lable and Stanton 680E unless you scratch in which case they all suck at

I thought I should add that no audiophile club such as Stereo (When it was run propperly), Twilo, Love, Fabric, Lotus Bar etc use Ortofon by choice as the sound engineers hate the sound, these are all top quality fully analoge sound systems.
Also a funny quote this month from some one I know "funny thing about the Ortofon breakup. My cousin has a mastering/lacquer cutting business. I was talking with him a few weeks ago and he mentioned that he uses an Ortofon OM DJ on the lathe. I told him that it seemed like an odd choice and he responded that "it is the easiest to distort if I have done something wrong."
