The occasional song ive been donwloading and then burning to cd has been playing up when i put them in my cdjs.

i download the song listen to it on my computer its all good sounds fine.
i then burn it to cd, go to play it in my cdjs and it just skips insanesly like stuttering all through the song.
Most songs are sweet but the odd one will play up.(note these are brand new cds not a scratch)

Would the song be corrupt or something like that?

Are you using a good quality CDR blank and burning it at the slowest speed possible? Do you have other applications running while you're burning the CD? What application are you burning with? Are you burning from MP3 to MP3 or MP3 to CD-Audio?

No, the firmware update doesn't change any playback characteristics.

What brand blanks ARE you using? What version of Nero? Does the CD play okay in any other CD players (car, home, etc)?

I can I quickly suggest trying some other software. I had the same issue with Nero before I started burning my music with iTunes in 320kbps and then with EZ CD-DA suggested by the good man himself, Chris!

The Brands Cd im using is TDK.
The Version of Nero is version 7.
I tryed it in my home cd player and the song still messed up.

I downloaded that same song from somewhere different n now it works so i duno im thinkin its something to do with just certain songs mayb not the burning.

might try that ez cd-da program then though. dont like workin with itunes convertin all my music n **** to much hassle.

Ok here is what I used to do....

I get a CD and rip it to the hard drive and external hard drive {all at 320kbps}. Every folder etc is organised exactly the way I want it. Then I can pick different songs from the folders and import them to iTunes to BURN only. I do not convert them into m4a. iTunes is only used as an intermediary burning device and does not alter the mp3.

From now on tho, I am using EZ CD-DA to do all that. Hope this is of some help to Squeek! When I used Nero it would not play in anything, car, kitchen stereo etc as Pulse suggests. I used iTunes and it worked fine.

Version 7 has some issues transcoding MP3s to CD-A, you may need to update it (there are downloads available on the Nero website - be sure to use the newest version).

EZ CD-DA is a fantastic program for ripping and encoding but I don't use it to burn. I use Nero6 for my burning - if you want to try a free app which kicks butt, try CD Burner XP.
