First off let keep this thread a serious thread. No Jokes DJ Pulse

Hello I am the owner of Custom Sound DJ I have a cousin who work for me as a MC and handle the sale call for me. He is a great mc he dose the job I can’t do but he all so love or drink too much at events. This past Saturday we DJ at the Mardi Gras Parade and my mc guy my cousin was drinking a lot of draft beer and I mean a lot and even when as I was braking down and loading the equipment in my vehicle he sill pumping away on the keg of beer and he sill have to drive home. He made it home this time. I very consented if he get into a accident and hut or kill some one because he was drinking wile working for me I can be sued and I have to sell off everything and go out of business and I don’t want that on me anyways I can not live with my self and this don’t look good in font of the customer. Do I need to just fire him?

Short answer: yes.

Longer answer: give him a shot. Tell him it's unacceptable and that if he continues, that he will be fired. Explain to him that it looks unprofessional and not to mention the fact that it's illegal for him to be driving under the influence. I would say it's immoral for you to allow him to do so as his friend/family; but that's up to you to decide.

Dew, if I recall correctly you're a bus driver during the day. How would you feel if your cousin plowed into your bus and killed even one of your charge because he was drunk? Come from that place when you're talking to him. It's not all about business. You're not asking him to change; you're just asking him not to do something on the job. It's your company, you're the boss, if he doesn't play by the rules, can him.

I agree with Ryan. Either the booze goes, or he does.

A few drinks at certain events (and a Mardi Gras party would be one of them) isn't a big deal. Getting completely sloshed IS. It looks grossly unprofessional to have an employee of yours, cousin or not, get totally hammered.

He may be a great MC and do good office work, but getting drunk at parties is, to me, worse.

Nobody likes a drunk Dj or Mc (not that you were drunk Dew) not even other drunks.

People are paying you to do a prof job witch do'nt include getting drunk. I do have a beer - drink during a gig (depending on the gig, never to the point of getting drunk) to seem like I'm not a prude. If your cousin does'nt think people notice he is sadly mistaken.
Dj Dave here likes to get loaded and dance on the top of his speakers. Most people think "what a idiot" (several times he ended up doing face plants on the floor) He is having a great time but not many else does.
He told me about a gig he did once where a 14 year old kid wanted to try to Dj. He said the kid was pretty good, and while the kid was playing it gave the Dave time to get a few more whiskeys into his gut.

All in all, tell your cousin it's ok to have A drink or 2 but the drunk has got to stop or YOUR business will SUFFER.
