Well I noticed my cars rear speakers weren't relly making it, so I looked at my options and made a choice move. Yes, I bought PIONEER speakers for the car!!! Now granted, this may be taking things a little far, BUT quality sound gear is quality sound gear-

generally that's where car makers are on the cheap, the car speakers! any basic advice would be upgrade your car speakers when you first can! my vw golf 4 uses blaupunkt oem speakers - so i'm not complaining... but a lot of my mates' cars have cheap speakers (stock) - and it's just a wonder when they change over, they say "why didn't i put new speakers in earlier, should have listened to you...!" etc!!

yeah there are some of the speakers in the pioneer range which are awesome... and in general most would sh*t over most cheap stock speakers too!!< !--color-->

The biggest problem with stock anything is underpowering.

My buddy Blink had stock in his 198x (?) Celica, and the system sounded like S#!T, put he put a Sony headset in his car and the sound is amazing. The difference just a new head for about $100 was incredible.

I've got a pair of JBL 6x9's I got 50% off but haven't been able to install (bought'm for my old car, they fit, but I never put'm in, and now they don't fit in my Rav4), I'm keeping because they're damned good speaks.

I really want to get a nice Pio head tho.

right on pulse! i seem to neglect important things in most of my posts oh well...

i don't complain in what i have in my golf - the stock sound system is really good for stock! anyway standard in most headunits these days i think is about 45w-52w so anything under that and you'd be struggling for sure. anyway that's about it for me crapping on < !--color-->

I have an AWIA head unit (detachable face that flips back when off) and 4 6x9 Infinity speakers with 2 tweeters. Going from stock Infinity deck to anything was an upgrade. The Pioneers are recomended on the site that I buy car audio from. They tell you what will fit your car, so there aren't any issues with wiring and placement. I will report on the Pios later to day after they go in.

Well exactly 3 minutes, 8 philips head screws, and 2 6x9s later, I have an awesome sounding set-up! Next is the door speakers so they match up with the back speakers. I agree with the $$$ concept and realize that you often get what you pay for, BUT these are PIONEER 3-way 6x9 speakers and for under a C-NOTE they couldn't sound better.

I have been in a civic that had $27,000 worth of sound. The car has won a bunch of Cali competions for volume and set-up. The owner is an installer who paid about $3,000 and signed a 5 year deal to show the car whenever requested. The extremes, and also you need to remeber that an old man like me can't justify spending it all on stereo gear; DJ gear, well that's another story all together
