I set my Tivo to record Distortion 2 Static. For those that don't know this is the show we've all been waiting for about 2 years now. It aired on WB (if you see the police Warna Brotha hehe) at 2:30am, hence my need for Tivo.
I was told Q-Bert is the master mind behind this new show that airs on broadcast televesion. It's a 30 minute show catering to DJs, turntablism and Hip-Hop in general and it's based out of San Francisco/Daly City. No one has ever dared to bring turntablism to broadcast televesion until now. Mix Master Mike was on there and we all caught glimpses of Q-Bert doing his thing in his DC home. I forget the host names (don't want to mis spell their names). Here's my take: One step in the right direction. I'm soo glad someone has the balls to put the funds into something that doesn't exist and take a chance. Most said and believe it would never work. But it's a reality and it's here now so you better enjoy it while it lasts. I really hope this show takes off. Besides being a DJ I'm also a DV editor and I have skills in this arena as well. The show was not live like we all thought it would be. It's been edited and given that underground dirty low budget look. Love what they did to show off the San Francisco Bay Area. Why did they only cater to the male species? I know a ton of females DJs but I guess it's too early to judge. I was a bit let down by the quality of the show but I'm looking forward to seeing this show evolve. All DJ's should tune in and show your support! |

I searched for that show, but it didn't come up for my replay. Was this a one off thing?

I was told it's a weekly show that's in a test phase so who knows how long it will last. Saturday at 2:30am... you'll have to be up late on Friday night or up early on Saturday morning. I have a season pass so it should automatically record for me since I'm using Tivo.

Yeah, I went to my replay website (neat feature that lets you set shows to record online) and it didn't come up when I searched. Maybe it's not playing in my area (Seattle)

I've never used Replay but now I know what you're talking about. Not sure why it didn't show up.
This is what I did. I connected to the Tivo service a few days in advance and searched for "shows to record by channel" listing. I selected WB (for me it's 13) and then scrolled over to Saturday and you'll have the entire list of all shows on that day. I found it there. |

Yes I did record the show. The question is has it purged itself yet. If it's still on there I'll email you. I do have the option to output to DVD.

One more thing. The show is only on broadcast (locally in the Bay Area). It's not a nationwide show yet.

I would love to watch that. Hopefully it starts airing in more places than Cali!
