Hope everyone finds something DJ-related under their tree!

Cool! 136. I like it! I haven't opened anything yet. I'm waiting until my little niece gets here so we can open some stuff together. The tree chocolates are starting to dissappear though.......

Yaaay! I got something DJ related!

My best bud bought me the book Last Night a DJ Saved My Life - The History of the Disc Jockey.

I haven't cracked it yet, but it looks like 410 pages of fun fun fun! Can't wait to have some sit-down time for it.

Chris

Ho ho ho!

I had a top Christmas, me and my DJ partner in crime we're DJing at a local pub on Xmas Eve, it was packed!

Dropped some of the coolest mixes I think I've ever done! Had people dancing most of the night too.

Top tunes that rocked it were:

M&S - Salsoul Nugget
Santos - Camels (Original Mix)
Alan Braxe & Fred Faulkes - Intro
Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better (Buffalo Boys Remix)
Plump DJs - Scram

In fact, I can't think of a track that bombed!

I have to say though, one thing I hate about DJing is when someone asks you for some 'banging hard house' and then the next person asks for some '70s Funk'!!!!

How exactly are you supposed to a) mix them in! b) keep the flow of the night going!!

My solution was to just keep to the plan, and play any sensible requests when I felt they might fit in, otherwise you lose the flow.

Top night though, had people congratulating us at the end, very big smiles all round!!!

Have a cool new year people, and if you're in Leamington Spa in 2001, drop by the Fox & Vivian, you might just catch me playing!!!

cheers
matt
