So i'm playing 2 gigs next week where i will definitely have to bang it out.
I don't mean crazy electro, but most of my stuff is deep and funky house, which will not work for big clubs.

I spent last couple of days on Beatport/Stompy and i have to tell you, the situation is looking pretty grim. Either I have to be more open minded or the stuff thats popular right now is complete and utter sh*te.

Found couple of tracks that i like:

Fedde Le Grand - Get That Feeling (Original)
Samantha James - Breathe You In (Eric Kupper Mix)

Can anyone suggest something similar?

I have tons of tech/minimal but it will not work for San Diego ADD crowd. I need something mainstream-ish.

Oh, i found some euro-promo of Britney Spears - Break The Ice (Remixes). And i have to admit Soul Seekerz and Wideboyz remixes are pretty rockin' (never thought i would say something like this)

They will definitely get the crowd going. Only one problem though. Quality of tracks is low VBR (160-192) and there is no way I would be playing it on a club system.

I've searched high and low all over the net, trying to buy these tracks in higher quality, but they don't seem to be available anywhere.

Where would i buy something like that?

If you're thinking of playing electro check out the following:

Laidback Luke
Deadmau5
Tocadisco
Robbie Rivera
Hatiras
Vandalism
Swen Weber
John Acquaviva
Pryda

Don't know where you'd get that other song maybe limewire ( Eeker woops)

yep, here in SD. THIN in particular.

Played afterhours there on Saturday night. Electro went over nicely, except for a moment when some 40-ish chick came up to me and gave me a napkin with "MAYBE MORE PEOPLE WILL DANCE IF YOU PLAY HIP-HOP" written on it. lol

But music was totally appropriate for that spot. My usual tracks would not fly there at all, so i have to buy some more bangin' stuff, because i almost ran out of tracks on Saturday.

I played there a while ago, played Onyx shortly after. I think I played mostly Trance and some "commercial" house/dance tracks (Better off, Found love, Launch, etc..) it is a cool spot; and bug off to that same 40ish chick who is at every Wedding, Club, and Event requesting tracks your not playing because "more people might dance, but your the DJ and your doing a great job" S K R E W U

9 times out of 10 I ignore people who come up to the booth but DJing does not pay my bills. I'm all about the artistic side of it. I'd never want it to be a job. There's an aquaintance of mine whose the resident at what used to be the only underground venue who depends on his work to pay the bills. That club is nolonger an underground venue. They sold out to rap so the guy has to play it. No thanks. When DJing becomes a job, I'll quit.

I agree with you all! that 40-ish bootch or person who does'nt get out much, or the drunk-a$$ who thinks they know all the good tracks can fook off! Just like justanotherdj, I too do it for the love but not a main income. As a matter of fact, My day job or my trade of 19 yrs is what paid for a lot of my dj gear from day 1. I look at it like we get payed to party right!? Good luck with the tracks!
