Hey Nova,
when I started out in Germany, I didn't even know what a mobile jock was. I don't think the mobile scene is that big in Germany or maybe I was just mis-informed.
I started as a club jock & luckily for me landed a job at the 2nd club to which I applied. As for practice, at the time, i had no CD players (professional ones) of my own & so I only got to mix on the club's system twice a week (Fridays & Saturdays).
About 3 months later I had scraped together enough money to buy a DEN*N 2000 MK I (the best thing at the time).
Since I came to the States & switched to all Pioneer equipment, it's been all good.
These days I don't practice that much. mainly when I get new music & I'm listening to it for the first time, I start to mix it with another song & then end up practicing without knowing it for the next couple of hours.
Basically I don't feel the need to practice anymore b/c I'm so familiar with the equipment. I know if I end up buying the 2001 CDJ's I'll end up practicing / playing with them for a few hours each day. Did I write too much? Boy I'm a chatter box.
Bye.
