After 2 long years playing with my CDJ1ks I have decided to buy a pair of 800s. I am so delighted. The package will be delivered to my door tomorrow. I am taking them down to the little island where I was brought up ...... Malta !!!!!!! I'm off to buy some foam / insulation to fit both decks in one hand bag (a probag that used to hold 120 records - should be big enough). It's going to be great. My partner in DJ crime is setting up some gigs in rememberance of the old days when house was the thing !
Well Let's see what the morning brings. |

Well finally they are at home. The 800s (and a mix stick). They are wonderful , their ease of use is phenomenal. It took me only 5 minutes to get used to the pitch. The grading of pitch shift is different from my old 1Ks mk1. I am in doubt which pair I would leave in my flat , and which pair is going down to Malta.
Any advice Guys ???????????????? On one part I enjoy the new jog wheen feel. It is Slick really slick. and the size is smaller which is a plus. On the other hand I like the Mk1s pitch much more. SO what is your recommendation ?? |

I love the 1000 over the 800 for its memory features and wave display. Even the improved pitch range and memory time isn't enough to make me say 800 over MK1.

i've played on all three units in the clubs but spent the extra cash and got the MK2's if i had to choose between the 800's and Mk1's i'd take the MK1's the hot starts and display are a real life saver @ times not to mention i wasnt a huge fan of the quick return (would [bleep] me up during a backspin or quick scratch)

Thanks guys,
I will take down the 800s to Malta, since I will be using them only 1 month during 2004 and another month during 2005. I will stick to my MK1s and wait for a new release of 1ks that can read mp3s from both CD and DVD ISO.(I hope it is not a long time though..............) I still need to master the hot cues, cause I used the 1000s just like turntables...........no more.........no less. |

Right Guys!!!1
Next week I am off to Italy for the weekend. I'll be taking the 800s with me !!!!!!!!! I have been booked to play at MYM Club at Civitanova Marche. A open air club adjacent to the beach. Buying the 800s was a blessing, they do snug in perfectly in my probag!!! Believe me guys , size does matter !!!!!!!!!!! and in this case the smaller the better (as long as we do not sacrifice the platter) Will let you know how the gig went in 2 weeks time. Speak later guys !!!! |
