Come on, this player is the smaller smaller brother to the big guns (1000/800) But guess what, it has far more features and technology built into it...
Which makes me wonder why pioneer use this type of marketing, in that i pay 1000's for the big gun, then few months later something cheaper and toy looking can do just about the same and more .. I think pioneer should reserve certain features just for the big guns .. becasue lets face it now, will they add the same features from the 400 to say 1000mk4 ? |

Honestly I never been so happy that Pioneer did this for us DJ's whose just trying to make any minimal impact in the DJ scene. I'm so happy that the features are somewhat familiar with the big guns (1000/800) you just mentioned. The fact I can just practice at home or take my CDJ-400's wit USB/Flash and/or Laptop to use Pioneer DJS and once money comes through even SSL/Serato to even enhance my sets away at house parties/undg/gigs. But lets say you do have the 1000's well guess what You have one of the best CDJ's in the market be happy you have them because if money wasn't an issue I would love to have them.

Don't get upset about it, think of it this way... the "big guns" always have "bigger and better" features and functions. If you think the CDJ400 is hot, imagine what the next player will have!
Just to set minds at ease - there is no anticipated release for a new CDJ1000 but we know Pioneer is ALWAYS working on the next player, mixer, effector, etc. and it comes out when it comes out. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

The touring pros and club guys will always want the TT alternative which is the 1000/DVJ and even the 800. As for the 400, I think you'll see DJs that would have gone to 800s and even 100s going with the 400.
If the 400 had Waveform, I'd give up my 1000s in a heartbeat. Pioneer National Trainer & Product Specialist |

Why would it? They're two different markets and applications. The CDJ1000 is targeted as a "top end" player and the CDJ400 is more for mobile jocks, entry level DJs who are looking to get started and guys looking to add a small player to their existing rig.

With the features the 400pack, it can compete with any 1000 ....
I think the only reason it is targeted at a certain market is mainly becasue of the price and not the features. ... |
