if for some reason you can't get that one, here's another link to a different newspaper, but same article

You know it's gonna be a nuclear bomb if the local ho-hum everyday newspapers are touting the features of the CDJ-1000.. I wouldn't be surprised to see magazines like GQ, FHM, Maxim, Spin. Rolling Stone, Newsweek, et cetera, have blurbs about the new player in the "cool new electronics" sections that they always have..

Actually, I think that the CDJ-1000 might get so much press coverage, that it becomes something of a fixture in commercials and music videos, as the 1200 has.. It'll take some time, but it'll definitely get there.. Nice article..

The thing I really hate, and bothers me, is that so many people just think of this as "just another cd turntable", and many people who are not really dj's or rarely spin will not be amazed of the scratching cuz they think that many other cd players already have scratching, and this is just another one to the list...

I wish everyone could be on this board, and know the kinds of things we know, and how amazing this unit actually is... what a pitty...

---Added----

Another thing I wanted to say is that many club owners will not be looking to upgrade to this new cd player, and I think it will be quite a very long time before the major majority of clubs will be using them...

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE THIS UNIT, I would practically sell my soul for a pair , but what worries me, is that if we have these units at home when we practice, then when we do gigs at clubs, we will not be able to do the things we could do with the cdj-1000, and maybe not all the cool things we wanted to do in our sets...

If only people knew how good this is....

136,

That is funny you mention that because GEAR Magazine just finished a photo shoot, MAXIM has asked for it next week, and finally the coolest news is that a CDJ-1000 system will arrive in New York on Monday for Yahoo Internet Life magazine who doing a photo shoot picturing Bill Gates, David Bowie and the CDJ-1000s and some other cutting edge products. The latter will be in the September issue.

EVERYONE IS GOING APE OVER THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY!!!

Are the three (Bowie, Gates and the CDJ) going to all be in the same picture, or just featured in the same section independently?

Bill Gates is not cutting edge; he is cutting up peoples' wallets, and slashing tech-necks left and right. His Xbox should be pretty interesting, but since I am not a gamer, I for one will not be in line to get one, or even care to look at one. My interest is focused primarily, and almost exclusively, on your product.

Assuming he is an American citizen, David Bowie is almost receiving social security checks.. I'm definitely going to have to check out that article, to take the context out of what you said.. heheh.. anyways, I guess my prediction was correct. Now, where's my hat? j/k

Excellent article and even better news to hear that its going to be in all of these magazines! I hope it makes it into the UK Maxim. Maybe you could get a photo of Bill in a baseball cap, trousers that are 10 sizes too big for him and a string vest holding the new cdj in one hand and the x box in the other?

just an idea

136,

The spread will have the CDJ system pictured with those two people and some other people and other cutting edge products. I think the angle is people that have been in the forfront of technology and products that are in front of technology. Bowie has always been a big internet proponent and recently I think MP3 proponent....that is why he will be in the picture. I don't know who else is suppose to be in it or what other products there will be. It's a color spread so it should be pretty cool.

AFAIK Bowie is a Brit, and on his 50th birthday he sold stocks in himself . You can check out the value of the stocks on
http://www.popex.com/profiles/david_bowie/stats.html. So I guess he's not exactely living on welfare...

LL,

I have to disagree with you on that one.

I think it will be in all the clubs VERY soon. It didn't take long for the DJM-600 to replace a majority of the 500 mixers in the clubs. And same with this. This is something that the professionals are going to demand on their riders....guaranteed. Just wait and see. Mark my words... I guarantee you'll be seeing them in the Dec/Jan issues of mags like Mixer, DMA, etc. when the clubs can start ordering them.

Thnx,
Brian B.
