Is it bad to leave a cd in your cdj800mk2 or cdj 1000mk3 when you turn it off after every use? I was wondering, because I've heard some people say that with Pioneer it doesn't matter, but others say leaving the cd in there will ruin the cd player.

I never leave discs in, I always feel that movement or locking up can happen to the laser. I believe the manual say to remove discs before shutting down...

I've done it lots of times, but I try to avoid it. If only because if I'm ever looking for that CD, I'd like to know where it is.

I take them out every single time the players are shut off, even if I have no plans on moving them. But mine are 6 years old, so I'm paranoid.

I see, cuz I've had my 800 mk2's for about a year and always left a cd in there, and had no problems at all...but I just got a 1000mk3 and dont know if they'll break if I leave a cd in there. No where did I find in the manual that it says to take out the cd everytime.

Really, there's no point in leaving one in there.

I never leave cd's inside just in case the did somehow get stuck inside! CDJ's eject when you turn them on even if they don't have a cd in them anyway.

On mine when I leave cd's inside they don't eject, they just say "eject" when there is no cd left inside. Are you DJTGM from youtube?

I have been using Serato for several years now, and I never take the control cd's out of the players, unless Im at an event where someone has a track on a cd that I do not have already stored in my computer or hard drives. Ive had zero issues with leaving them in the players, even after several years.

Good man, just went through a Tropical Storm here in South Florida. I got a hole in my roof and water was leaking in, luckily it was nowhere near my gear. I'll probably make a new vid this week. I'm still waiting for your mix lol

That's your best bet. That's how I approach buying any gear, it's best to buy the best so in the long run you wind up saving money instead of having a bit of kit for a few, then breaking down, then having to buy the better model. Good luck man!
