Hi,
I can not get my memory cards that i have setup and used in my CDJ1000Mk2 to work in my new CDJ1000Mk3.. Is there a way to have all those loops appear on the Mk3 without putting them all back in manually.. ?? Are these systems compatible Thanks Dogg |

Thats gay..
My Mk2 stores loops on the cd hardrive and on my memory cards so not sure what you mean there.. Is it possible to format a new card in the Mk3 then copy the Mk2 card across to the formated Mk3 card.. ?? |

Hey Pioneer family, long time no speak...
Little clarification: Quote: Karl says on his announcement thread: Q: Will the mk2's memory card, cue points and wave data work in a mk3 player? A: YES So i guess mk3 accepts old cards fortunately...? cheers PK |

As clarification as well, the MK3 saves much more info than the mk2s did, and also as a slightly different format... which atually means you can now read them on a pc and copy what you want

I stand corrected. the word "limitations" was missed when I reviewed the manual for the MK3... You can use MK2 cards, but there are limitations if formatted on the 1000 or MK2, when using that card in the MK3-
MP3 data cannot be recorded Loop data set in hot cues cannot be recorded You cannot use a computer to copy or back-up the card When recording a Loop point, a single loop point requires 2 points of memory area The cards cannot be reformatted in the MK3 This is the facts on using a card from the 1000 or MK2 in the MK3.... How about the other way around? I've got two MK3's, using the memory cards that were supplied with them. This weekend i got a gig at a place which has MK2's. Can i use my memory cards in them, or do i need to buy MMC? (i think the MK3 has SD) |

the CDJs all use SD cards or MMC. I would think you could use the MK3 cards in MK2s, BUT you won't get the loops or the MP3s.......

I think because the format has changed in which the data is stored, the compatability is:
MK2 points > MK3 player = okay MK3 points > MK2 player = no go Someone will have to verify this for me however - I haven't had the chance to try. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Quote: You mean the hot cue loops right? The regular loops can still be read? I saw both the MK1 and the MK2 can store loops as well on the card, so i don't see this being a problem. Also the Pioneer's MK3 site says the cards can be used in any CDJ1000. I wish someone here was able to verify this. Would'nt it be a big oversight by Pioneer to have loops created in a MK3 not work in earlier versions? |

Can i jump in here real quick as a future CDJ owner and ask if any cards come with the units?
I've seen elsewhere on the forum that these are mere SD cards... i could get pretty much anywhere. yes / no? |

They do? Last box I opened for a show had (keyword: had
) a 64MB card in it. Either way, the unit still only addresses the first 16MB which even the most fierce DJ will have a hard time ever filling to the limit.Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Quote:Quote: That would be "moi" ![]() Sorry, have been busy last couple of days.. will try this tonight when I get home, although I will say I would be very surprised if it worked... most things are usually (as pulse noted in math format, lol) backwards compatible, not forwards ![]() More on this at 7~8 pm EST :P |
