I have
2- DVJ 1000
1- pioneer switcher
1- Edirol 4 Mixer
1- triple Monitor

What would be the proper way to connect all this?

I'm going to post this again because I know I wrote it out but it wasn't all in one place...

DVJ S-Video outs > VSW-1 (inputs Player A & Player B)
DVJ Sync > VSW-1 Sync
VSW S-video master output > V4 (input 1)
DVJ Composite outs > V4 (inputs 2 & 3)
DVJ Composite preview outs > triple monitor (sides)
V4 Preview output (or main output if you don't need the Edirol data display) > triple monitor (center screen)
V4 Main Output > house system / projectors / TVs / etc.

If you want to use the faderstart...
DVJ faderstart > VSW-1 PL CONT (Player)
VSW faderstart (Mixer) > the corresponding channels on your audio mixer

If you want to use MIDI to control the V4...
Mixer MIDI > V4 MIDI input

To send the VSW output to the house, set the V4 to input 1 on both sides. To mix using the V4, switch the set the inputs to 2 and 3.

I think you can connect your system allot simpler.
Take RCA Video out to Edirol V4 inputs 1&2
Take RCA Preview out to Monitor 1&3
Take RCA Video Preview from V4 to Monitor 2

I think this way is more practical.
I still would like to know the reason why would you use VSW-1 together with Edirol V-4?

Because the VSW provides insta-switching vs. the V4 which, unless you spend the time to set it up properly, will only fade.
