Hello again.
After all the helpful respsonses to my last post I've decided to go for either a CDJ 200 or a CDJ 400. As you'll gather from the title, I would like to find a shop in the U.K. to buy one from (when I eventually decide which one to get). It doesn't need to be anywhere particular within Britain and, as I'm going to be buying on-line, I don't need demo facilities or anything like that. But I DO want an honest and helpful shop to buy from where I can be sure that I'm not getting any sort of "grey market" product or such-like and where I get the warranty as it should be and no arguments if the thing arrives broken! I'd prefer somewhere that holds plenty of stock - I don't like the "pay and wait" system very much Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks very much. |

Careful. Can't discuss retailers.

Out of interest, why can't we mention retailers?
I can understand a ban on bad-mouthing ones you personally have had poor experiences with, as no good can come of it, but where's the harm in recommending the good dealerships? It'll lead to more sales of Pio gear after all... |

Sorry, Pioneer's choice - something about unfair competition. Personally, I'd be all for the personal recommendations but then others would see that as "advertising" because it was mentioned on an official forum.

I went to a well-know seller of decks in the West-Midlands today, which I found pretty easily, and was glad I had got a second hand pair of 800s and not the 400.. (I got to try them both out together for comparison).
If you want to be able to use a USB stick, wait and see if they release a version of the 800s with them. The platter isn't as good on the 400. It feels plasticy, is too small and has a ridiculous light show going on around it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: breslau, |

Oh, and the effects are mostly silly as well. Especially the "bubble scratch". Clearly gimmicks to encourage the bedroom-trance DJs.
