I've had a pair of cdj-1000 mk3's almost since they came out, and one of them is starting to loose its rebound on the cue button.... Nothing's ever been spilled on it, i was basically just looking for basically anyone who has had this problem, and any suggestions on either cleaning it, or how to go about getting that nice cue button rebound when you press it...
Thanks in advance.... |

If your out of warranty or in warranty; contact tech support. It can get dirt or sweat or other things in there between the sensor and the button. We can't tell you how to fix, but it should be an easy one after you contact tech...

I've heard of "heavy handed" DJs who wear the "rebound" out earlier than others, as Jay says, contact technical support and see what they say.

A Little update on the button story... The Cue Button finally lost ALL of its rebound, so if you basically graze the button it activates... I am getting a new table tomorrow and sending this one out for repair and see what happens... I was wondering if anyone else ran into a similar problem, or if anyone heard of this happening to anyone else... just wanted to know if this is something that happens often, or if i just got this one like this....
Thanx in advance.... |

Yes it has happened - to many users. It's a known occurrence but it's not guaranteed to fail or widespread enough for Pioneer to recall them or change the design.

I've repaired approx 300 units for the same fault. The micro switches used are not particularly robust and do wear out over time regardless of the heavy handedness of the DJ.
The replacement is simple, and "should" not cost too much from a reasonable repair centre. |

Thank you guys for the quick responses.... Maybe Pioneer should implement better switches for future models??? I use the CUE button a ton, and i see DJ's that do as well, and they SLAM the thing.... But i do have to say, that's been a while since i got them, and use them for 5 gigs a week every week, so maybe i use them more than average??? (And that's not counting studio time and use at home)
Anyways thanks for the info.... |
