hello all

well, i checked my mail today and as expected the cdj1000 video arrived. i feel so lucky because either i am one of the first to receive this video or everyone else is watching it continually on loop. i am at a loss for words. the video is just amazing! besides getting to see the cdj1000 in action, i loved how roonie g compared it side by side to the 1200's. this unit is definitely a breakthrough with endless possibilities.

beyond showing key features of the cdj1000, hot toddy showed how one could use the 3 hot sync to create your own beats much like a drum machine. thanks karl and brian for the video. i'm sure the video would make any vinyl enthusiast a believer!

pioneer welcomes you to the future!

I got mine last night and I have to say that anybody who still has doubts that this is the future should check the video out.

It answered a lot of my questions and nothing beats seeing it at work.

I've already started saving...

Thanks for the video Karl...great stuff!

I received my video yesterday. Thanks Karl, that is just what I needed to see. My conclusion from what I saw on the video is: "THOSE THINGS ARE THE ULTIMATE FUN MACHINES!" All the hard work and research paid off.

Checked the mail yesterday and I almost beat up the mail delivery boy. Feeling kinda down, I checked it today, and eureka!!, I got the tape this afternoon!

While viewing the tape, I literally jumped out of my seat a couple of times when I saw the things that Toddy and Roonie were doing. I was definitely impressed with everything that they did on the 1000's. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!

Roonie on the tape says that he and DJ Brayks are going to be doing a "digital scratching" video to be released soon. Once I get the 1000's and the case, the video will be my next investment. My question is, when will the new video be available???

My final rating. . .2 thumbs up, and SOMEONE LOAN ME $2200.00!!

I got the video today and just watched it. First let me say I'm not a scratch DJ, but I do have a background in vinyl, starting as a club DJ at The City in Louisville, KY in 1978. Lately I've gone virtually 100% CDs as I'm tired of lugging records around and find that I can easilly carry around a significantly larger selection with CDs (a few hundred titles) than I can of records (less than 100). The larger selection allows greater freedom to program music that the crowd is responding too, which may be way different than what had been planned.

There's a wide range of CD players in the clubs in San Francisco. Pioneer players are fairly common, but so are those from competitors. They range from pretty basic units that do little more than pitch control up to units like the CMX-5000 and that "other one" with the red faceplate.

They all share one thing in common: you can mix CDs, some with relative ease, others with much more difficulity. Any good DJ should be able to get a decent mix out of any of these players.

But until now, it appears, that "relative" in relative ease hasn't really been that second-natured to those that use vinyl and turntables.

That the CD has now been given most of the feel of a record spinning on a turntable should be a big boon to those who spin by feel. The buttons and jog wheels on what's now the "previous generation" of CD players always had a mechanical feel. The amount of pitch bend was something you had to learn with each new player, and there seemed little relation between the buttons/jog wheel and what happened in real life.

Having a record-styled/responsive jog wheel on the new CDJ-1000 to me makes the purchase price alone worth it. Features added such as remembering cue points for your CDs with the Multi-Media Card and a visual representation of the music on the Wave display, while impressive as well, aren't the breakthrough features that make this an amazing product.

I found the best part of the video is at the end, the section that shows off the many features of the deck, past the demonstration on turntable vs CDJ-1000 scratching (as I said, I'm not a scratcher). While a few are of dubious real value, I'm amazed at how much this machine can do.

Just got through watching the tape, very well put together, It's very cool that Pioneer was able to get it out so quick. The player lives up to all the hype and delivers everything promised. The cue point memory is one of the things I'm looking forward to, it will hold up to 10,000 cds!

I'll pass video on to the first person that emails me.

Toad that's nice of you to share your video. Yes it hold up to 10,000 CDs information but it is also cool to know that it holds ONE MILLION cue points, loops and wave forms with the MMC card. (10,000 points internal memory without the card)

I finished watching the video and I must say that Pioneer has really done it......I'm a die hard vinyl DJ and I am thinking about making the switch now after seeing what this bad boy can do......I will make a decision when they finally arrive and have some time to play with them.....Who knows, Pioneer might have converted me to cd's, I wonder how many other dj's out there will follow.....

I just finished watching the video yet again!! I must say i'm thinking of sending a bill to Pioneer for al the bibs i had to buy!!! Seriously though this thing is AWESOME. I called my brother up who is a very loyal 'D' fan and i told him that when he sees this video i would "GUARANTEE" him he will no longer want to buy the 26***! I guess i sounded dead serious because he quickly asked me when the player will be released! Man, i can't wait for the players to come out!! It was funny to see Brian acting like he didn't know what was up with the players Hot Toddy seems really cool too!! I'm onna go down to Disneyland when i'm down there! Now, Karl when will you make a kameo appearnce on one of thes vids?? I would also like to thank you guys for this and so much more!! The Pioneer family is the best!! That's one more thing why my brother is thinking about going Pioneer because when i tell him of all the cool things Pioneer does for/with its customers he's like "When has ***** ever done something like that?" Pioneer is simply great!! Later!

Just got home from the club....we had surprise visits from BIG DADDY KANE & DOUG E FRESH (Old school hip hop artists) who were in town for a show.

I showed the CDJ 1000 video on our booth TV to 2 DJ's..... both vinyl only. One is a club DJ (we share the Saturday residency) & the other is strictly a battle DJ. Both are convinced that the 1000's are the SHIZNIT.
They had to watch the videos one after the other as only one person could listen at a time through the headphone BUT their verdict was the same.

They both want to buy them....the only snag....the price. Infact, the DJ I share the residency with, was supposed to buy my 700's when I get the 1000's BUT now he's talking of getting the 1000's himself.

Just thought I'd share that with y'all.

Peace out.

Good, very informative, great sound, it impressed averyone around (non DJ,s) they would not believed it was cd scratching! and they would not the price either!.
the video should be on DVD (5.1 sound) with a full catalog demo!!!!!
beautiful player, worth sacrificing for, but I will have to wait. (I am married now)

I got the video... and as a special treat to forum members, I'm ripping some bits and pieces of it!

First bit: Roonie G doing a comparision of skratching using a vinyl table then with the CDJ-1000. As a vinyl tablist, I have to say it's pretty damn close.

Peep it here (2:22 @ 12.3 MB)

It's in Apple QuickTime format, compressed with the Sorenson codec in case you're having problems viewing it (versions 4 and 5 should have no problems). At just over 12 megs, and 15 fps, it's a little lefty for dialup users, but it's well worth the download for the 240 x 180 resolution and quality (vs RealVideo). If I get enough requests, I might make a more crappy RealVideo file.

Enjoy!
