Pioneer's CDJ (1000) & DVJ-X1 are the Most Desired Products by DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs!!

Each year an ever-increasing number of people from around the world vote on-line for their favorite DJ in the world renowned DJ Magazine's online poll. This year, the magazine received an amazing 100,000 votes from around the world with the results displayed in the Oct-Nov issue. A series of interviews and DJ profiles follows the ranking from the illustrious number 1 to 100.

When asked the key question; "What is the Best Technological Development For DJs in Recent Years?", an astonishing 46 out of 100 either quoted or drew reference to Pioneer's top CD turntable or the new DVD spinning hybrid, the DVJ-X1.

The No. 1 DJ for the third consecutive year was Tiesto, who made history this year by playing to a record audience of 4.6 billion people watching the Olympics from across the globe. So what product did this hugely influential ambassador of dance music say was the best technological development of recent years? Yes, you guessed it, the Pioneer DVJ-X1.

This year's comment from leading DJs showed a big increase in those embracing CDJ decks as the current and future source technology in replace of vinyl. Radio 1 DJ Seb Fontaine stated, "I probably play 10% from records. If I like a record I burn it straight to CD now." Another influential DJ Danny Howells said, "In the last few years even the most hardcore acetate users have made the switch to CDs".

The Pioneer CDJ-1000 was quoted by 18 DJs as their favoured technological development, five of which were in the top 20. The Pioneer DVJ-X1 was cited by seven big name DJs including Tiesto, Marco V and Anne Savage. Quite impressive considering the product has just been launched.

Other Pioneer products to receive endorsement as the most influential product of recent times included the DJM-909 mixer by ATB, who came in at no.13, and the EFX-500 effects unit by DJ Vibe.

Another startling observation was the support from other DJ's such as no. 11 DJ Carl Cox who quoted the CDJ-1000s saying, "They (Pioneer) have got it right and have really opened things up for DJs". No. 10 DJ duo, Deep Dish, also answered the above question with, "Pioneer CDJ-1000 � game over!"

When asked his oddest moment of 2004, James Zabiela cited his experiences at a test room in Pioneer's headquarters in Japan as engineers and 'bigwigs' looked over him! Describing the experience he claimed, "It was like I was in a UFO being experimented on by aliens. Mad!"

To gain so much exposure from the world's most respected and influential DJ poll is an impressive achievement for Pioneer Pro-DJ products. It is a fitting sign that 10 years on, the brand and its products are now considered the industry standard by top professionals and looked upon as the undisputed leader in the field of DJ technology.
